Boyce Technologies has been lending some helping hands to the landscape of Long Island City. Several Boyce Technologies team members have been participating with the cleanup of the garden area of Smiling Hogshead Ranch, a community garden in Long Island City.
The garden got some much needed care after the rough winter. The area had been overrun by poison ivy growth and debris. Sliding mud banks were eroding the perimeter of the garden. Boyce provided some heavy machinery and lots of hard work to assist in the restoration of the garden. Our team has the sore muscles and muddy hands to show for it!
“We want to ensure that Smiling Hogshead Ranch remains a safe place for the community to enjoy, and come and help grow the garden. We want this garden to symbolize the growth of Long Island City,” says Charles Boyce.
We have enjoyed taking a break from building products that help a variety of communities and spending some time getting our hands dirty while beautifying our neighborhood. Now that spring has finally sprung in New York City, we finally get to see the garden start to bloom which is the best reward of all.
