OUR HISTORY
Charles Boyce founded Boyce Technologies Inc. (BTI) after a 20 plus year career executing large systems contracts for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) in New York. As he engineered and managed these MTA contracts, he realized the risks and impacts of the projects were subject to decisions and schedules in the equipment manufacturing supply chain. The mass transit systems in New York City and the surrounding area the MTA covers have unique features that no other transit agency has. From 24x7 service, historic station architecture to complex interoperable communications systems, the MTA requires mission-critical systems that fit their needs.
BTI started with developing the Help Point units and underground radio systems and quickly evolved to provide network access nodes to security equipment. Eventually, BTI had the privilege to provide critical elements for train control systems and electronic equipment for train networking systems. As the success of these projects grew, BTI emerged as an ‘urban technology’ company where we developed smart systems for city environments.
Charles and the team at BTI continue to develop systems and products with ‘partner companies’ to address the needs of the MTA, the City of New York, and the State of New York.
